Our School Council is made up of two elected members from our Year 6 to Foundation classes. The pupils hold class council meetings, where they initially share their ideas with their classmates. They then short list their ideas in class council and the top three ideas are passed on to the school council to discuss further.
The School Council meet every other week and work with our headteacher to make these ideas a reality. All meetings are minuted, and these minutes are fed back to each class.
Usually, we visit the Mayoral Parlour in Clitheroe with a short train ride. We will wait and see whether that visit will be reinstated before the end of the year. We may have to visit virtually! Last year, one of our pupils was inspired to become a councillor, and another was amazed at how many female councillors there are! Our children love being school councillors as they know it is a very important role. We will be holding our meetings virtually and delegating tasks to year group leaders.
